Director of Performance Assessment Development
Amy Reising currently serves as the Director of Performance Assessment Development for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).She has extensive experience designing and implementing large scale performance assessment and exams programs in California. She is currently directing the CCTC’s redevelopment of the California Teaching Performance Assessment (CalTPA) and developing California’s first required performance assessment for preliminary administrators (CalAPA). Previously, Ms. Reising was the Director of Credentialing and Teacher Development for High Tech High Charter Schools in San Diego,CA. Prior to her teacher preparation work at HTH, she was the Deputy Director of the National Center on Teacher Quality (NCCTQ) for the federal government working with states to implement teacher quality improvement plans. From 1999 to 2006 she worked at the CCTC directing the Exams and Research program and oversaw the administration of funded teacher preparation programs. Ms. Reising worked with WestEd as a consultant specializing in student and teacher performance assessment development and provided direct technical assistance to Title 1 schools and districts in Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California. She began her career in education as a high school art teacher in Richmond, VA.
